Independence Day
Take a minute on July 4th to remember that we are celebrating...
INDEPENDENCE DAY
We do not celebrate July 4th itself. July 4th is a date on the calender. Independence Day is much, much more. It is of greater value than a ballgame, cookout, swim party, or any such worthwhile pastime. Take a minute to reflect on the meaning and importance of Independence Day. Our Founding Fathers thought independence worthy of their "lives, fortunes, and sacred honor." The least we can do is treat the day and the legacy it represents with honor and respect. Dignify Independence Day with illuminations, fireworks, gunshots, parades, and all manner of celebration. But celebrate for what it means, not because you have a day off from work.
